It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Grace Eleanor Forbes, a beloved teacher, wife, and grandmother, who left us on November 1, 2024. Her warmth, generosity, and wisdom touched the lives of all who knew her, and her legacy will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.

Grace was a devoted spouse to her loving husband, Benjamin, with whom she shared 45 beautiful years of marriage. Together, they raised a close-knit family and nurtured a bond that was rooted in love, understanding, and faith. Grace cherished her three grandchildren, who brought endless joy to her life.

As a woman of remarkable character, Grace was known for her passion for teaching and her dedication to shaping young minds. During her 35-year career as a literature teacher, she instilled a love of reading and creativity in her students, leaving an indelible mark on their lives. Her vibrant storytelling made her a favorite among her students and peers.

Beyond her career, Grace found joy in gardening, cooking, and hosting family gatherings. Her backyard, always in full bloom, became a place of solace for family and friends. Grace’s love for her community was evident through her involvement in local church programs and literacy initiatives, where she built meaningful connections and friendships.

Grace leaves behind a legacy of compassion, love, and learning that will forever shine in the hearts of her family and all who were fortunate to know her. Her life was a testament to the beauty of service and devotion, and her memory will be cherished by all whose lives she touched.

A funeral service to honor and celebrate Grace’s life will be held at St. John’s Anglican Church on November 10, 2024. Family, friends, and all whose lives she impacted are invited to come together to remember and pay tribute to an extraordinary woman whose spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
